On February 14th 2009. Captain Graney held a Vehicle
Extrication class. This class was for all the newer firefighter
members. These probationary firefighters learned the basic
understanding of vehicle extrication. Through discussions and
practical activities, these members got to use both hand and power
tools and different techniques. Captain Graney with help from
other Firefighters and Captains went over the basic understanding
of scene operations involving the extrication of entrapped victims
and the importance of vehicle stabilization and different methods
to stabilize vehicles. These probationary members got hands on
training and was very useful.

Falls Rescue Pumper 212 received a Powercall Siren the first week
in February 2009. This siren is more effective than a traditional
siren due to the fact that the sound is different and odd. A
Powercall will catch a driver’s attention better then a tradition
siren.

units found a tractor-trailer vs. a mail truck in a head on
collision with the poastal worker entrapped. The tractor-trailer
