            OUR PAST:
The Falls Volunteer Fire Dept was established in 1970 and incorporated as Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. on July 7, 1970. Initial funding was accomplished by requesting donations of $10 per residence and business in the community.  Those who donated become a voting member. That initial funding effort raised $3,060.

In 1970, the first fire station for the Falls community was created with a Verbal contract between fire department members and Community Club members which made the clubhouse into the fire station provided firefighters maintain building. That original station is still in use today at 11908 Falls of Neuse Rd.

The original Falls Fire District was South on Falls of Neuse Rd to where the Ravenscroft School is today. East, to the railroad tracks on Durant Road. North to 98 Hwy, and West to Six forks rd.

            OUR PRESENT:
Today the department is a Wake county combination department. We have 3 part time employee's from 7am-6pm Mon-Fri, and rely on a dedicated, trained and community service conscience volunteers to provide coverage to the residents of the fire district after 6pm and all weekend. In addition to our fire district we provide mutual aid support to Wake Forest, New Hope, Bay Leaf,  Stony Hill and Durham Highway Fire Departments, as well as supporting the city of Raleigh residents when our units are closer than a city unit. This gives the best possible service to the citizen of Wake county/Raleigh city.

            OUR FUTURE:
In the near future we will be combining the efforts of the Falls Fire Department with the efforts of the Wake Forest Fire Department as a way to combine resources, manpower, equipment and training, thus increasing the capabilities of both departments and for an even greater savings to the community. We are proud to be working with our Brothers in Wake Forest.
